Live Zones is a set of dark ambient improvisations where all loops and soundscapes were recorded live. No overdubs and no post processing. What you hear is what was performed. It is Interzone’s most ambient album so far, but it is an ambiance filled with dark and raw hypnotic drones.
Set one is three short tracks followed by an intermission. Set two is one long track, and all is finished with a final intermission.
1. Live Zone One (4:11)
Hollow soundscapes echo, and in the background some machine is at work. Clearly a place where no humans walk.
2. Live Zone Two (6:45)
Huge drones circle around each other, attracted by gravity and repelled by centrifugal force they oscillate, forever.
3. Live Zone Three (3:04)
An interpretation of the Pink Floys song title: Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict.
4. Intermission One (9:32)
Pause music between the sets. Semi-static drone track.
5. Live Zone Four (14:48)
Tribal in its rhythm and increasing in intensity …this is the main piece of the performance. A dark, drone-like illustration of a black voodo trance.
6. Intermission Two (10:50)
Ending music. Almost on the varge of being beautiful in tonality and harmonics, this piece ends the performance on a light-ish note.
